DO YOU KNOW...the difference between margarine and butter?

Both have the same amount of calories.

Butter is slightly higher in saturated fats at 8 grams compared to 5 grams.

Eating margarine can increase heart disease in women by 53% over eating the same amount of butter, according to a recent Harvard Medical Study.

Eating butter increases the absorption of many other nutrients in other foods.

Butter has many nutritional benefits where margarine has a few only because they are added!

Butter tastes much better than margarine and it can enhance the flavors of other foods.

Butter has been around for centuries where margarine has been around for less than 100 years.

And now, for Margarine

* Very high in trans fatty acids.

* Triples the risk of coronary heart disease.

* Increases total cholesterol and LDL (this is the bad

cholesterol) and lowers HDL cholesterol, (the good cholesterol)

* Increases the risk of cancers up to five fold.

* Lowers quality of breast milk.

* Decreases immune response.

* Decreases insulin response.

And here's the most disturbing fact....

Margarine is but ONE MOLECULE away from being PLASTIC! EW!!

I was offered this job today (just Tuesdays):
My son Evan has autism and is primarily non-verbal. He has low muscle tone and oral-motor coordination problems which makes speech difficult. He just turned seven and goes to Eden Prairie schools. He is enrolled at the PACT Institute in Hopkins for a speech therapy group on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3 - 4. PACT was opened about six months ago by a former speech therapist from Fraser. PACT specializes in speech therapy for children with autism. Ok, here is what I am needing. Evan needs transportation from Forest Hills Elementary School in Eden Prairie at around 2:40 and taken to PACT in Hopkins by 3. Ideally, I'd like the person who is transporting Evan to stay at PACT until therapy is over at 4. After that, it's all optional. The person can take Evan back to our house in Eden Prairie and stay with him there until 5ish, or transport him to another after-school program in Minnetonka. Again, it's all optional. My biggest thing is I need Evan transported from Forest Hills to PACT. I'd like to sign this person up as a Personal Care Attendant (PCA). The pay would be $10.75 an hour, with an hour for drive time each way. So a minimum
of $30.00 a day - more if additional time is spent with Evan. Also, there will be opportunities to observe Evan at PACT while receiving therapy.

I'd be making about $50 each Tuesday, PLUS observing a speech therapy session. A good paying job, in the field I want to work in, looks good on a resume. Hmm??

Have you lost a kitty? If so, come get it out of our bathroom please

amy: as for now he (since he's huge i'm assuming it's a boy) is hiding behind the toilet. i think i'm going to have to let him out soon thought because fern and moo have gotten very interested in the bathroom door
kelly: is he "fixed"?
amy: i don't know. how can you tell?
kelly: does he have nuts?
amy: eh i suppose, i'll go try to see.
kelly: okay
amy: i think he might be fixed, but i'm pretty sure it's a he. well, he could not be fixed if he had really tiny balls.
kelly: that would be sad for him.

I am sad for this kitty that he is stuck with 7 girls right now.
